David McGrane (on the right) is President and Creative Director of Ozone. He has worked in advertising and design, and been a creative director in London, New York, San Francisco and even the former USSR. He has worked with, and won awards for, agencies and clients, both large and small.
David started in the mailroom of McCann Erickson in Sydney in 1978, but swiftly moved on to his future calling in the creative department, and to a very successful start up called Mojo (Chiat/Day). He joined DMB&B in London in 1985, after a stint at Hedger Mitchell Stark. During his time in DMB&B's London office, he worked on campaigns for many of the agency's clients, including Digital, ITT Nokia, Mars confectionary, Pedigree Petfoods, Procter & Gamble, Budweiser, and also led several successful new business projects. He spent two years with DMB&B/New York on both technology and packaged goods accounts. In 1991, he helped reestablish DMB&B/San Francisco, servicing the main client - QANTAS - as well as technology start-up accounts. In 1994 and 1995 David was named Executive Creative Director for Eastern Europe, based in Moscow. He oversaw all clients, including FIAT, Reebok, Philips and Coca-Cola.
Upon his return to the Bay Area in 1996, David helped found Ozone with three partners. He took over as President at the end of 2003. Applicable account experience over the last decade with Ozone includes Adobe, bebe, Mendocino County, The Esalen Institute, Applied Biosystems, Salesforce.com Foundation, Leap Frog, and DJ Orthopedics.
David sails and skis avidly, loves his wife, Yasmine, and son, Finnegan, memorizes Shakespeare and strangely swims in the Bay without a wetsuit.
