Client: Union Bank of California
Project: Sponsorship of the Arts
Situation: Union Bank needed a simple piece of effective
communication to let people know that, as part of its ongoing support
of the arts, it had underwritten a documentary about the artist Emile
Norman (to be shown on PBS).
Solution: We scripted and produced a 15 second commercial
that started outside the Union Bank building, then went inside the building
to show a mural created by Emile Norman. The voice over, recorded by
LA Law actress Jill Eikenberry, lets viewers know that the mural features
images of San Francisco, including the very Union Bank building in which
it resides. PBS needed to approve the creativity and subtlety of the
commercial prior to it airing — they did approve it, allowing
our client to increase their brand awareness.
